I just found out from the vet that my one year old female pitbull has flea bite dermatitis. Any suggestions???

Any remedies for flea bite dermatitis???
Bathe weekly in a shampoo that has chlorhexidine or a tea tree oil shampoo. It will help ease the itchiness. Once she quits itching, then you can taper off the baths.
Reply:Cool water and baking soda bath sooths itching and helps the skin.
Reply:Use oatmeal dog shampoo and buy some Avon Skin So Soft. My sister lives in Florida and fosters pubs so she has had many that have bad flea infestation/dermatitis. She gives them flea baths, then uses the Oatmeal shampoo and brushes in the skin so soft, which repels fleas. Sometimes she has cut an Omega-3 capsule and brushed it into the dogs hair which soothes the skin and fur.
