Perioral dermatitis?

Does anyone have this? It's basically little red pimples/redness around your mouth. Some say it's a form or rosacea. My doctor gave me Oracea (30 pills) and Metrogel, and it's hardly clearing up. Anyone have any tips for this, or general dermatitis?

Thanks!

Perioral dermatitis?
i have rosacea and yahoo has some great groups for rosacea.i used the metrogel for two months didn't work for me just dried out my face even more than it was.

here is what I've been using a sunblock from wal-mart $1.99 oz called [ocean potion]FACE 45spf its sold in 1oz circular container.i believe what helps is the zinc oxide that's in it.

also dry skin i'll use petroleum jelly at night before bed a little goes a long way.

look out for thing that trigger the rosacea like foods with tomatoes, alcoholic drinks, exercising, sweating, sex,too much sunshine, and some meds.there are a lot of triggers

and there are no cures you just have to learn how to control what triggers it off and read a lot of other group posts of what helps men and woman who have this disease

hope this helps
Reply:Do a web search on "definition of perioral dermatitis", "pictures of perioral dermatitis", "signs and symptoms of perioral dermatitis", "treatment for perioral dermatitis", and "alternative treatment for perioral dermatitis". Read all that you can so you understand this condition and all available treatments. If what you have been prescribed is not working then you need to talk to your doctor again or go to a dermatologist. The more informed you are the better choices you can make for yourself and be better able to communicate with your doctor.

Good Luck!
Reply:for general dermatitis i recommend exederm - their site is good at exederm.com but don't know about perioral dermatitis - sorry
