Seborrhea Dermatitis?

I am 17 years old, and I have seborrheic dermatitis on my face. I've had it for about 4 years. I've tried hydrocortisone cream, aloe vera, and washing my face with dandruff shampoos. Nothing works. I just use moisturizer to smooth down the scales. I feel disgusting. I am sick of going out with flakes on my face. I am sick of putting on enormous amounts of makeup to draw attention away from my flaking skin. I'm so embarrassed. Nothing works, and I just want the flakes to go away. If anyone has any treatments I might have overlooked, please let me know.

Seborrhea Dermatitis?
I am not a doctor, but I know what you're talking about, I have that on my ears, and drives me crazy. There are some creams for diabetics, that are very very good even for people who doesn't have diabetic, try to look something that also treats psoriasis, usually also helps with seborrehic dermatitis, so you can use it and will help your skin be moisturized.
Reply:I have Seborrhea on my head and if I am not careful it will get on my face. For my hair I shampoo in T-Gel (strongest they make) or Denerex. Neither one of theses does alot for the hair, but they will eliminate the stuff on your head.

For your face, you need to talk to your doctor about topical Metro-Gel. You have to use it twice a day - morning and night. It works. It is the only thing I have found that gets rid of the nasty stuff that scales up on the sides of the nose. I don't know if you have that or not. Any way, hope this helps.
Reply:Not sure if this will be helpful but you could try this website

www.rainiersoapworks.com and click on the PUPPP Relief. Maybe it could help. (Keep in mind that hydrocortisone thins your skin, meaning you could get cancer easier) I'm trying the product now for skin problems I'm having, although I don't know what my skin problem is.
Reply:Hydrocortisone won't help,it's a steroid besides it very dangerous to t-cell formation. You'll probably hate me for saying this, but you may want to lay of make-up for awhile. Moisturizers are often overused and causes it to worsen; those contain antioxidants that are not helping you depending on your skin type. Get yourself a non comedegenic scent free soap; Phisoderm is excellent and cools the skin. Wash thoroughly every day with it. It's cheap, practical and works. You're 17 and you're at that age when your skin is starting to mature too so you may want to consider alternatives- steam treatments; all you need is a bowl of boiling water and a towel. Take about 5 minutes - it's extremely helpful for all types of seborrhea, it will also regenerate your skin. If you're looking specifically and have access to essential oils, I recommend adding 2 drops each of clary sage, thyme linalol, juniper and grapefruit to said water. I wish you the best of luck in healthy skin.
Reply:I think that you may be having psoriasis.
